Former professor of Mechanical Engineering, Chung Tsui passed away July 27, 2014. A professor for more than 40 years, Tsui taught fluid mechanics and measurement laboratory classes. In 1999, Tsui received the Clark School's Faculty Service Award in recognition of his outstanding service to both the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the A. James Clark School of Engineering.
For more than a decade before he retired, Tsui was in charge of Mechanical Engineering's facilities, inventory and keys. He frequently referred to himself as the ‘key man’ of the Department. Many faculty in the department recall the kind and helpful nature of Professor Tsui.
Tsui was born in 1931 in Hong Kong S.A.R. He graduated from Hong Kong Technical College and came to the United States as a student in September 1957. He received his Master of Science degree in July 1959 and Doctor of Philosophy degree from Purdue University in January 1967.
Tsui is survived by his wife, Linda Chang Tsui, and his two children, Dr. Allen and Amy Tsui, J.D.
