Professor Davinder K. Anand, a 40-year veteran of the Mechanical Engineering Department, will retire in June 2004. After retirement, Professor Anand will continue to serve as the Director of the Center for Energetic Concepts Development and to provide leadership for other initiatives in the department.

Professor Anand has a proven record of transformational leadership of the department, dogged efforts in solidifying collaboration between the Naval Weapons Surface Center at Indianhead and the A.J. Clark School of Engineering, and his sagacious mentorship of countless faculty and students.

After more than 30 years as a faculty member in this department, Professor David C. Holloway will be retiring at the end of the spring semester. After several months of travel and enjoyment, Prof. Holloway plans to return to the Department on a part time basis to continue advising the student automotive competition teams and to support the Department's automotive research efforts.

Prof. Holloway is well-known for his exceptional dedication to undergraduate education, undergraduate involvement with engineering competitions, automotive research, and professional service during his long and successful career in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The department wishes Professors Anand and Holloway success, happiness, and good health in the years ahead.
