Assistant Professor Teng Li

Assistant Professor Teng Li

Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Teng Li was recently appointed Lead Guest Editor of the Journal of Nanomaterials Annual Focus Issue Series on Low Dimensional Carbon Nanomaterials. Prof. Li will work with three other co-editors from Sandia National Laboratory, Penn State University and Brown University on this annual focus issue series.

Following the success of the 2011 Special Issue on Low-Dimensional Carbon Nanomaterials: Synthesis, Properties and Application (co-edited by Prof. Li), Journal of Nanomaterials is establishing an annual focus issue series on low-dimensional carbon nanomaterials, which will serve as a focal publishing venue for this thriving field of research. The annual focus issue series will contain a collection of articles and papers on the fundamental physics, synthesis, and technical applications of low-dimensional carbon materials (fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, graphene, nanodiamond, carbon nanoscrolls, and other novel carbon nanostructures). The 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery of graphene completes a trifecta of mega-awards--including the 1996 Nobel Prize in chemistry (for the discovery of fullerenes) and the 2008 Kavli Prize in Nanoscience (for the discovery of carbon nanotubes)--that demonstrate the surge of scientific and technological interests in the seemingly simple carbon family of nanomaterials.
