Associate Professor S.K. Gupta (ME/ISR) was interviewed by Mechanical Engineering Magazine, the premier publication of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, about the future of computer-aided manufacturing systems. ?What designers ideally want to get to is a system where, after finishing a design, they could press a button on the computer and fabrication could automatically begin,? Gupta says in the story. His lab is working on algorithms that would power computer-aided design toward such an end.
