Professor of Mechanical Engineering Ashwani Gupta received the Outstanding Service Award at the 25th International Conference on Incineration and Thermal Treatment Technologies (IT3), held in Savannah, Georgia during May 15-18. The award recognized his years of outstanding service to the IT3 conference as well as to the thermal treatment community worldwide.

In June, Gupta also received recognition for his paper "Examination of Methane-Hydrogen Mixture Flame Using Isotope Shift/PLIF Spectroscopy," by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Terrestrial Energy Systems Technical Committee. This AIAA Best Terrestrial Energy Systems Paper recognition will be bestowed on Prof. Gupta at the August 28 AIAA Awards Luncheon, which is held in conjunction with the International Energy Conversion and Engineering Conference in San Diego, California.
