CEEE Alumnus Nehemiah Emaikwu, Ph.D. who is a Future Technical Leader at Northrop Grumman, has won the prestigious 2022 USNC/IIR Outstanding Young Researcher Paper Award Competition. This annual award recognizes the outstanding research contributions of early-career scientists and engineers in the field of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pumps.

About Nehemiah Emaikwu

Nehemiah holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. His work focuses on energy systems and thermal engineering, with an emphasis on developing next-generation alternative heat pump technology, low SWaP-C communication solutions, and advancing integrated chip thermal management.

In addition to his technical contributions, Nehemiah is passionate about engineering education. He has pursued this interest through volunteer tutoring, workshop development, and lecturing.
