The following competition was announced today to the A. James Clark School of Engineering students:
ANSYS, Inc. is committed to assisting teachers and faculty in driving engineering education, and encourages curricula that provide students with the proficiencies they need to compete in today's computer-aided marketplace.
In support of the introduction of engineering simulation software into undergraduate education, ANSYS, Inc. and Design News magazine announce the second annual College Design Engineering Award. This national competition is looking for computer-aided engineering (CAE) success stories from engineering students or student teams.
Enter your team's best engineering project for a chance to win:
$10,000 (U.S.) to the winning student or team plus $10,000 (U.S.) in scholarship money for the student or team's engineering department.
Publication in the February 2002 Awards Issue of Design News.
Consideration for publication of any articles pertaining to the project in engineering education journals.
An expenses-paid trip for the winner, or a representative of the winning team, to Chicago's Ritz-Carlton Hotel, host of the 2002 Design News Engineering Awards Banquet.
The contest is open to undergraduate engineering students in the USA and Canada only. Engineering professors and advisors may submit entries on behalf of student design teams. To enter click here and fill out the official entry form.
